Macau, China

by Ruru Pilapil

Day 3 in Hong Kong - Macau Day. Since Macau is just a turbojet away from Hong Kong, we decided to include this to our itinerary. And also, I'm really looking forward to seeing The Venetian Hotel and The Ruins of St. Paul Cathedral. :)

There's a ferry terminal from Tsim Sha Tsui to Macau, good thing its just a walk away from our hotel. The original plan was to take the first trip to Macau at 7:00am, but due to unfortunate events (got a bit lost, duh?!) we ran a bit late and booked the second trip going to Macau at 8:00 AM. Wasn't that bad after all. :)

What I hate most about this trip was the ferry ride. It was stressful! Just imagining it again makes me really really tired. Imagine riding an Anchors Away for 2 hours. Maygahd. Btw, its raining that time.

Our first stop, the Fisherman's Wharf. Macau's free admission entertainment theme park. Walking distance from Macau ferry terminal.

I read from some blogs that this volcano explodes at night. ..

After exploring this theme park, we went back to Macau Ferry terminal to take Hotel Lisboa's free shuttle service. Next stop, the Ruins of St. Paul Cathedral. Yey!

It took us 15 to 30 minutes from Hotel Lisboa to Senado Sqaure, where we start our mini tour going to the Ruins of St. Paul.

They're a bit busy preparing for Chinese New Year. :)

On our way to the Ruins, we passed by this kiosk selling Egg tarts, its so happen that it's one of the famous kiosks in Macau, if you're a fan of Boys Over Flowers, that's the egg tart that Gu Jun Pyo gave to Jandi while they were in Macau.

We did try some and it tastes really good. Egg tarts are cute too, with a smiley on it. :)

And one thing what I like most during this tour was the food, free food! Free food taste all over the streets while on our way to the Ruins. Oh, heaven! :)

At last, the Ruins of St. Paul Cathedral! I really have this thing when it comes to ruins or any historical places, its like looking to it gives me a glimpse of the past. Wala lang. Haha! And also, its one of the best backgrounds for photo opps. Haha! :p

Even took a picture with this cute panda located just beside the Ruins. Haha!

On our way back, we bought some drinks to quench our thirsts and of course, pasalubongs.

Next stop, the Venetian Hotel in Taipa, Macau. In order to get there, we have to go back to Hotel Lisboa, take a free shuttle back to Macau Ferry Terminal and hop in to the Venetian's free shuttle service. You see, we didn't spend any bucks for transpo. Perfect! :)

The Venetian Hotel free shuttle service.

And tadaaa, Welcome to The Venetian! :)

Took pictures inside the Venetian Hotel. It was beautiful, too bad we didn't get to play inside their casino. Haha!

And the ever famous Grand Canal Shoppes.

There are also performers on the streets, singing italian songs.

We got tired exploring the shoppes and decided to grab some snack. I guess this is their food court. Haha!

I ordered burger and fries at Fat Burger, been craving for burger since we came there.

Basically that's the last stop of our Macau trip. After having snacks, we went straight to Macau Ferry terminal, bought Ferry tickets back to Tsim Sha Tsui and planned to call it a day.

Oh, we passed by this H&M store in Tsim Sha Tsui while on our way to the Hotel. Too bad, there's nothing good for me.

All in all, Macau trip was good! Enjoyed free street foods and the place was just amazing. I'd love to come back if given the chance. Haha!

Everyday is a lucky day in Macau! :)
