Goodbye, woman in yellow

by Jec Chua

August 01, 2009

I am not a Cory Aquino fan, nor an advocate of the infamous Ninoy Aquino's beliefs -(the reason why cory was escalated to the status she has been is because of the this man whom she stood beside with), but I mourn, together with her family and the whole nation for the lost of a significant treasure of our history and heritage as Filipinos.

Cory Aquino may not be the best President to be remembered, but in our hearts she will always be the symbol of the democracy being restored through the combined courage, effort and faith of each and every Filipino who stood strong for our nation during the time when our rights and freedom have been depressed by the evils of the oppressive and power hungry government. We will always remember her as the simple house wife of Ninoy, the wonderful mother of Kris Aquino, the good citizen who showed love to her country, the God-fearing lady who used the rosary as her best weapon to survive all her triumphs, the first female president who lead the country during the time of restoration, the woman whom the whole nation trusted and fell in love with.

All hail to the woman in yellow. You'll always be in the hearts of every Filipino, forever.
